Which supplement should I take? #Supplement Explorer
Are you always on your phone looking at which supplements you should take? Do you look at reviews? How do you decide what to buy?
As someone who has been in the nutraceutical industry for over 10 years, I’ve worked with many suppliers and companies to understand why an ingredient is chosen, what research is behind it, and how to sell it to a consumer, so if you are looking for some answers to questions you may have, drop a comment, or even better check out the Supplement Explorer on the site. It is free to use, 3 questions, and a simple output. No info is stored.I made the Supplement Explorer purely for my use and then thought, well, if it is useful for me, maybe it is useful for others. The tool is not affiliated with any company or brand, but was just a way for me to showcase what I find useful. If you use it, do give me feedback as to what you’d like to see it on too.
Stay well and remember, before taking any supplements, check with your doctor if it is a good fit for you or not!

Sunshine for stress release

The other day as I was in the car, I looked outside and saw this amazing view of sun and clouds. It was magnificent! Nature provides us so many ways to enjoy it and sometimes, you just have to put your smartphone down and look outside to reduce your stress!
Remember, your emotional health is just as important as your physical health!

Smash Mallows!

So this product is about pure indulgence! I love marshmallows but every one knows that they are loaded with sugar. This product too has sugar but just one has 80 calories. So not exactly keto friendly or diet friendly but definitely indulgent friendly!
Smash Mallows will be a hit with your kids and you won’t feel too guilty giving just one since it is only 80 calories! They do also come in various flavors too!

Protein with MCTs

I really like the Vega brand for protein powders as not only are they plant-based but they also have a lot of variety to choose from. The latest one that I found is an energy one w coffee powder and MCTs. Whoa!
I like that the protein powder gives you 20g protein, 5g carbs, and 5g fat in one scoop. Plus, it tastes good too! Being low carb, it does become keto friendly so that’s good too if you’re watching carbs.
MCTs are medium chain triglycerides that are fatty acids from coconuts that provide you sustained energy and mental clarity, hence they’re always talked about when talking about the keto diet. Either way, any time I don’t have to buy something extra such as MCT oil to add to my smoothie or coffee, I’m happy so a product like this Vega energy one is a good one for me!

Stressed? Nature has a solution

Often times, our lives get so busy with work and family that we forget to indulge in a little me time. Even if you can’t schedule this me time, there is something you can do and it’s pretty easy to do.
For example, while I was shopping the other day, I saw this pond of fish. Just simply stopping and observing them was amazing because nature provided me not only fascination but also relaxation! Do you need much more than that to relax? Not likely plus it doesn’t cost anything either!
Nature will give you many opportunities to decompress so take advantage of it!

Parm crisps

Sometimes when I want something to munch on, I gravitate towards a crunchy like item but not all that crunches is healthy so what do I do? I found Parm crisps at the store.
These little cheese crisps are so crunchy and have 1g carb, 7g fat.. perfect for the keto diet, right? Plus, these pair well with salads. If you need an afternoon snack, this is definitely one that you should keep in mind. With 7g fat, you won’t finish the whole bag in one sitting as you’ll get full pretty fast with a few of these or at least I do. These also make a good travel snack!
Parm crisps are available in stores in the chips and snacks aisle.

Challenge yourself

Every day that you get up, to expand your mind and knowledge, one should challenge themselves. That could mean simply doing Sudoku or saying hello to a stranger or even climbing a mountain?
If you challenge yourself, you’ll expand your knowledge, physical, spiritual, and mental acuity! Not to mention, you’ll also not lead a routine day!
How do you challenge yourself?

Chickpea rice

If you like eating rice but don’t want to eat white or brown rice, yeah you could always eat cauliflower rice but now there exists an alternative–chickpea rice.
Banza has a new product that is rice made with chickpeas and red lentils. It cooks easily and tastes good and more like rice than I expected. It doesn’t cost too much but the thing that I don’t like is that you get so little in the package. I’m sure they’ll come out with a larger package soon though. Macro wise, like white rice, it too has carbs so you can’t consume too much and not feel guilty if you’re watching carbs but this alternative has 10g protein (11g in 1/4 dry cup) so that makes it better than white rice for sure!
If it’s available in your area, give it a try and let me know if you like it.

Have you tried P3?

Another great product that I turn to during afternoon hunger time is the P3. Yes, you could probably make the same at home yourself but the convenience factor is key here!
These are usually on sale and I can get them for about $1.50 so not too bad to get a healthy snack to munch on. I usually buy the chicken or turkey ones because the pack is full of protein, fats, and carbs without being in excess of things you don’t want.
When the afternoon slump kicks in, do pick up the P3.

Getting calm

Today, there are lots of apps to help you stay calm and unwind but what did humans do before technology? They used their surroundings to find peace.
If you never thought you’d be a nature person, you might surprise yourself by a quick walk outside.
No headphones, no phone, just you. See what effect the power of the wind, sun, or rain has on you.. Indeed nature offers a lot for free, right!

Graze your way to healthy snacking

A new snack that I found at Target recently is Graze. Typically, graze was a snack you saw at the airport because it was one of the healthier options to buy when traveling but I’m glad that you can now find it in more stores and that too in a bigger package. The ones that I used to buy at the airport were over so fast and for a price of $2.99 or more, I was not happy. So imagine my surprise when I saw a bigger package at Target without it costing too much more!
What I really like about the snack is that it satisfies my need to munch on something and it is crunchy too. I like that you have options with veggies, high protein as well as some that are with chocolate for your sweet tooth craving. As you can see from the label, the ingredients are mostly things you know of and the caloric intake is good too.
This is definitely a good snack to graze with!
