Which supplement should I take? #Supplement Explorer
Are you always on your phone looking at which supplements you should take? Do you look at reviews? How do you decide what to buy?
As someone who has been in the nutraceutical industry for over 10 years, I’ve worked with many suppliers and companies to understand why an ingredient is chosen, what research is behind it, and how to sell it to a consumer, so if you are looking for some answers to questions you may have, drop a comment, or even better check out the Supplement Explorer on the site. It is free to use, 3 questions, and a simple output. No info is stored.I made the Supplement Explorer purely for my use and then thought, well, if it is useful for me, maybe it is useful for others. The tool is not affiliated with any company or brand, but was just a way for me to showcase what I find useful. If you use it, do give me feedback as to what you’d like to see it on too.
Stay well and remember, before taking any supplements, check with your doctor if it is a good fit for you or not!

Are you wearing a mask yet?

With no concensus on wearing a mask as we fight coronavirus, what are you doing to protect yourself when you go outside? Washing hands is a must whenever you get a chance, but a mask can also help. Why? Per new data, germs can travel 27 ft depending on whether it is a sneeze or cough! Whoa, scary stuff! Tip: get mask and wear it! Stay well!

Where’s the next food shortage?

It’s hard to predict what’s in stock at the grocery store when you need something during these times so people will buy and hoard what they need. Though demand seems to be there, the supply chain can’t keep up. This is leading to shortages in various categories including food and paper products which can be a problem when you need it for daily life and not for hoarding. Can we predict what’s going to be in demand next or where the shortage will be?
The answer is no but you know what you need for your house so my prediction is that the next supply chain to be disrupted is the pet food one. Remember, we treat our pets as our family so we want to keep feeding them and not disrupt their lives too much because let’s face it, in stressful times, they provide us much joy. Tip: if you have the means, buy larger bags of food for your pet before the supply chain forces you to buy whatever is available or go without.

Workout from home?

Is staying motivated to work out from home a challenge? I know for some of us who like going to the gym, working out at home requires creativity to know what to do but the internet has tons of workouts for this scenario with or without equipment so that’s covered but what about motivation? Where does that come from? Do you have it in this situation?
My motivation comes from the fact that as I’m snacking more now that I’m working from home, I got to find a way to burn those excess calories plus working out is also a stress release-be it at home or at the gym. I steady motivated because I schedule a time to do this workout just as if it was a meeting in the day. Yes, it is not the same with others in a gym but if this is the new normal, one can always find ways to challenge oneself. Remember, exercise doesn’t have to be working out with weights, it could just be taking a walk so find something that you can consistently do and you’ll stay motivated until the gym reopens!

Have your days morphed too?

So much is happening in the world in a daily basis during this pandemic that most of the days for me are morphed into something like today, tomorrow, and yesterday (saw this pic on Twitter and thought it was relevant). Is it the same for you? What was once about M-F or holidays and birthdays has now become something where we are just living in the day and hoping we don’t get sick. Sad but humans are selfish until we are faced with a reality that one didn’t expect to face. At the same time, humans are creative under pressure so we shall persevere and make it to our new reality soon.
To acclimate to some of the new normal, I recommend following an exercise routine, try a new recipe, sleep earlier, dance at home, and enjoy your family time. Moments like these are hard to come by when life is racing ahead so enjoy this temporary new normal for now.

Good news

While the pandemic continues, it’s time to recharge ourselves with some good news. Why? I’m sure your tv is showing only the coronavirus stats and updates and info overload is happening, making it difficult to figure out what is true and what is not, so as we navigate through these times, I’ll share some positive news even if in the back of the mind, we are all still worried about what’s going to happen next.
So as humans we are losing against the coronavirus but the planet is benefitting. How? Read this article:

So is this mother nature’s way to warn us? What do you think?

#ff nature for the win!

Friday is here and one thing to look for during this pandemic is beauty in nature. Why? Not only does it distract you from the day’s worries but it also is therapeutic because you’re enjoying the air, leaves, grass, etc.—provided allergies are not bad for you. Taking the time to de-stress is as easy as taking a walk outside. During these times, relaxing and destressing is a must so I hope you take some time for yourselves!

Quarantine week #coronavirus

Another crazy week, right? So to keep sane, make sure you protect yourself by washing your hands but also wearing a mask if needed but remember to take care of your pets. This pic is informative and from WHO. Please realize it is not necessary to abandon your pets during this time. Take care of yourselves and your pets!

Quarantine week #coronavirus

One of my favorite moments at home during this quarantine time is to be able to spend time with my dog. I’d say that’s a good work from home perk while I keep myself safe as well. The extent of going out is limited to getting groceries and walking my dog outside. Small things can be important so find that which makes you happy and this time will pass fast and safely!

Quarantine week #coronavirus

As I walk around outside with my dog, I feel exhilarated as I see many people stopping and being present. What does that mean? Well, usually life is in such a rush mode where we have to get everything done efficiently in whatever time we have during the day but thanks to the quarantine, we now have to slow down and actually be present.
For me, the biggest thing I’ve noticed is how nature surprises you. It’s officially spring and you’d expect many budding flowers but I saw snow instead on one day and the next buds on the next. Very serene and definitely something that I noticed during this time of isolation.
Hopefully after this pandemic, we will continue to practice being in the present because tomorrow is not promised!
