  • Which supplement should I take? #Supplement Explorer

Are you always on your phone looking at which supplements you should take? Do you look at reviews? How do you decide what to buy?

As someone who has been in the nutraceutical industry for over 10 years, I’ve worked with many suppliers and companies to understand why an ingredient is chosen, what research is behind it, and how to sell it to a consumer, so if you are looking for some answers to questions you may have, drop a comment, or even better check out the Supplement Explorer on the site. It is free to use, 3 questions, and a simple output. No info is stored.

I made the Supplement Explorer purely for my use and then thought, well, if it is useful for me, maybe it is useful for others. The tool is not affiliated with any company or brand, but was just a way for me to showcase what I find useful. If you use it, do give me feedback as to what you’d like to see it on too.

Stay well and remember, before taking any supplements, check with your doctor if it is a good fit for you or not!

  • Quarantine week #coronavirus

    Quarantine week #coronavirus

As quarantine time continues to go on, what are you doing to stay occupied?

One thing that I’m noticing a lot of people are doing is going outside and walking! Yeah! Back to nature and back to basics. We are unplugging! Is this good?

Yes, if you’re a dog owner, your dog probably loves all the walks and even if you’re not, you’re getting exercise and staying active every time you go for a walk. Plus, a perk for me is that I can see spring is almost here as seen in the pic!

    Stay strong and stay active!

  • #ff Don’t be that person!

    #ff Don’t be that person!

Since this blog is all about how to stay healthy, I’ve got to share some deeply disturbing news and how you can help fix it.

Young people still think that they are immune to the #coronavirus and are still flocking to beaches and bars for spring break, this needs to stop as not only is there an uptick in infected people but also in the he 20-40 yr age group. Don’t expose yourself because you don’t think it will affect you! Think about what happens when you go home and transmit it in your town to people who can’t handle it? The disease will continue to thrive so practice #socialdistancing!

  • Work from home #wfm

    Work from home #wfm

Work from home is a reality for many of us. Some of us have the tools to do that while for others this is the first time they are doing that.

The pros of doing WFH are many but so are the cons. You got to decide if it for you but know this the world is forcing you and companies to adapt so make the best of it, I suppose. That being said, what are some items that you need while working from home?

For me, a good internet connection is a must along with coffee, a desk, and a quiet place to work. I actually feel more productive from home than at work but I do miss the lack of interaction. No matter what, productivity depends on you, right!

  • Handshake #coronavirus

    Handshake #coronavirus

As the pandemic continues to accelerate in parts of the world, some places are not affected as much or people don’t believe it won’t affect them so they continue to behave as they normally do. Having your routine disrupted is hard for everyone but change is necessary including how we greet each other.

As seen in this pic, it’s clear that a handshake means a lot. It’s a great way to forge a bond but during current times, I encourage you to fist bump or elbow shake or namaste instead of reaching out to shake a hand. Don’t spread germs and stay well!

  • A simple message

    A simple message

Today’s message is simple and one I think we all should hear in these current times. What is it? We will get through this, stay strong!

With all the news coming our way these days, not knowing what is true and what is fake, one thing we should remember is that we will get through this! It’s ok to be scared, anxious, or nervous so Live each day!

  • A simple defense against #coronavirus

    A simple defense against #coronavirus

We have heard lots of tips on what to do to avoid the coronavirus but one simple tip that hasn’t been mentioned is wearing gloves!

Gloves can be either disposable or washable. Pick the best one for you. I love my gloves pictured on this post. Great to go pump gas, use the grocery store cart, or simply to drive. I sanitize mine with wipes too so germs don’t transfer. This simple fix along with washing my hands is hopefully going to go a long way in preventing knowingly transferring germs. Let me know if you have any other tips!

  • #ff Chickpea emulsifier

    #ff Chickpea emulsifier

I’m sure you’ve eaten chickpeas at some point in your life for their taste or nutritional content but did you know that companies are now using it as an emulsifier–an ingredient that can keep oils and water from separating. Why is this important? Because you are getting a clean label product instead of one with synthetics. So cool!

  • Time change–a few days later

    Time change–a few days later

Now that it has been a few days since daylight savings time, are you noticing a difference in your sleep? Or still struggling to wake up on time for work as it’s dark outside? Do you hear such stories from others in your life too? Everyone faces the same issue so what should you do?

If you face this time change hurdle, one thing that I’ll recommend which won’t be popular is set your alarm clock one hour earlier than usual! Why? Not only does it break your sleep but you also get to snooze an hour longer until you actually have to get up! Hopefully, by next week, all will be normal and a regular sleep pattern is back and routine.

  • Disinfectant

    Disinfectant

As seasonal allergies continue to appear, we are also seeing an increase in coronavirus cases too. Ironically, the one similarity that I see with both is that we are constantly spraying and disinfecting. Yeah! Note: a good disinfectant has at least 70% alcohol so that it actually kills the germs. This is so important because if you rub your eyes, last thing you want is more germs entering your eyes. So take care and be safe because, apparently germs can travel in many ways that you might not expect!

  • Spring allergies

    Spring allergies

So with the coronavirus on your mind, now spring is throwing a surprise your way too-allergies!

If you aren’t already taking a vitamin C and D supplement, check with you doctor and see if you can because both can provide you immune support in these trying times. Taken daily, it’ll help prevent but not cure it right there and then. The goal is to not have a runny nose or eyes so perhaps this may help you. Good luck!
