Something new…

If you’ve been following me for awhile, THANK YOU!
Stay tuned for something new!
Coming soon!

First computer
Write about your first computer.
Ah, nostalgia…
My first computer that I was exposed to was at keyboarding class. Took the class because I and my folks thought it would help with typing faster. The computer itself looked like the ones you saw in the movie The Net with Sandra Bullock. Those were the popular ones back then!

Best leisure activity
What do you enjoy doing most in your leisure time?
No matter how many activities you are involved in that bring enjoyment, absolutely nothing is more rejuvenating than a nap or sleep!

Leadership
What makes a good leader?
A good leader must have many traits but to me the foremost one to have is understanding.
Understanding and guiding your team or project is important.
Understanding the company metrics or team goals is important.
Understanding what as a leader is actually possible to deliver is important.
Understanding your team can make a decision and that micromanagement isn’t necessary.
Understanding the future vision for not just the project, company but also the team and adapting as needed.
A good leader embodies the above and can maintain a healthy environment so burnout or resentment doesn’t creep in.

Love
Can you share a positive example of where you’ve felt loved?
Everyday when my dog gives me kisses or sleeps next to me!

Mental health and Friendship
I think being mentally and spiritually fit are equally as important as being physically fit, do you agree?
As we go through our lives, we make many friends but once we hit adulthood, why is it so hard to make friends? I long for the days where I could go hang out with someone on a whim but responsibilities come in the way. Or is it that’s the way we justify saying no to going out?
I don’t need to have hundreds of friends but a few locally would be great. It’s just so hard to meet new folks–that then feeds into being depressed and impacting one’s mental health. So what’s the cure?
Joining many new outside work activities, yeah that’s one way but what if you don’t meet people for friendship but specifically for that activity and nothing beyond? Why is it so hard to make friends as an adult?
I’m sure a lot of people would be much happier, less lonely, and mentally fit if they had a good circle of friends! -
Why is January the let’s get healthy month?
It seems like a New Year’s resolution is the best way to set up goals for ourselves which typically includes eating better, going to the gym, or not indulging in some habit that prevents us from achieving our own goals. However, doing any of these things takes time and in this day and age, we just want everything to happen with a quick 48-hr turnaround!
Habits are formed over a course of time, both new and old. To modify behavior takes time, so I find it increasingly difficult to say that January is the healthy month! It can be if it’s start of a lifelong journey but results in a month, don’t kid yourself! Hard work is needed.
Be proud of the change you seek to make beyond just the month! -
Snacking
What snack would you eat right now?
Snacking can be so good for you and so bad for you too. Make sure to pick something with fiber or protein to stay full longer.
What did I choose? An apple! Best after dinner dessert with a piece of dark chocolate.

Impactful
What relationships have a positive impact on you?
Relationships change as we grow ourselves but I know my family is the one that I can count on. Always there for the good and the not so good .
We all have others we count on but those that impact you are those you call family. No matter who makes up your family, I’m sure that’s who has a positive impact on you.

Happy
When are you most happy?
Every day that I get up, get up healthy, and live to do it again the next day, I’m happy!

Always admire this…
What is something others do that sparks your admiration?
Anyone who can get up in front of a crowd and be confident when speaking is so admirable. It’s so easy to sit behind your computer or phone and voice your opinion, but can you share your opinions as confidently in public? Courage, strength, and articulation are key!
