This week, I’ll write about what you can do while traveling and some simple hacks so as not to derail your healthy lifestyle.
As I sit here on a train heading for a new work conference, I have to remember that I won’t have access to the gym and that means I need to find an alternative way to staying active.
Most of my conferences allow me to easily walk over 10,000 steps in a day so this one should not be that different but the bad thing is that I won’t be lifting weights so what else can I do?
My actual hack is to watch my food intake as calories in cannot exceed calories out. It takes control but it can be done. You might be wondering, why don’t I use the hotel gym; I’m not staying at hotel but with family. Why not pay a daily fee to join a gym or go to a CrossFit gym? Well, long hours mean no gym time so got to make the best of what’s available.
Remember, sometimes life gets in the way and you need to accommodate yourself for that. Yes, I want to stay healthy and active while I’m traveling but I also don’t want to miss out on my life by focusing maniacally on how much I eat, what I eat, when I eat, when I workout, etc. Finding a balance between life and fitness is key to success!
