Having gone to a concert recently, I can definitely tell you how your emotional health as well as your overall health can be affected. You are probably thinking, how can a concert affect my health so to that I say read on.
Going to a concert is great way to release stress and have a good time so if you are lucky to see your favorite artist be it a year later or 20 years later, make sure to savor the moment. How can you do this aside from using a phone to capture it? Be present in the moment! One thing that I noticed at the concert is how obese concert goers are becoming. Why? No healthy food options in the venue. Lots of alcohol and pretzels and nachos and popcorn but what if you want to have a good time at the show and still eat healthy? You really can’t because there are no options so plan ahead and eat before you go that way you don’t break your clean eating. Plus, if you aren’t drunk at the event, then likely you’ll remember it more clearly and rely less on those awkward pics. Yes, everyone’s way of having fun at a concert is different so do what is best for you that keeps you healthy and safe.
Another way your emotional health is affected by the people at the concert—be it your friend, family, spouse, or strangers around you. Each one affects your health and enjoyment level. If you go to a concert with your spouse or family or friends, going to a concert should not be a stressful event but everyone has their own issues so all you can do is put that aside and enjoy the concert that you are going to and be in the moment. Similarly, concerts tend to have all sort of strangers who act differently at the event from being loud and obnoxious to just plain acting drunk so what can you do about this? Not much unless you want to get kicked out of the concert but definitely you can let security if things are getting out-of-hand. Use your good judgment and be and let it go because a concert should make you happy, not land you in a fight or worse jail.
Emotional health is so important for all of us because one person’s behavior can have profound impact on another. Figure out what makes you happy to keep enjoying the event and don’t let a sourpuss make you not have fun.
