Look at your Vitamin E supplement, flip it over and look for three things:
• Does it say d-alpha or dl-alpha? Natural or synthetic?
• Is it tocopherol (free form) or tocopheryl (esterified)?
• Is the price difference justified by the form?
So what’s the difference?
dl-alpha tocopherol is the synthetic version as the extra ‘l’ means it contains both the natural form AND a mirror-image version it doesn’t.
d-alpha tocopherol is the natural form so your body can absorb it better.
Pretty interesting, right?
Stay well!
