If you are like most in the northern hemisphere, you likely are taking hot showers as they are so relaxing, right? Would you consider changing up your routine and taking a cold shower? What if I told you that cold showers have many benefits? After the shudder passes, you probably would like to know what those benefits are right?
Some benefits include the obvious, alterness! When that cold water hits you, you will wake up your body. Not only does that cold water help wake you up, it also revs up your sympathetic nervous system which could act as an antidepressant possibly or so I’ve read. Another benefit is that cold showers keep your natural hair oils in while hot showers open up the pores so even if you don’t want to have a full cold shower, may be end it with a quick secs with cold water you’ll see positive changes in your hair—shiny, thicker, etc. but you got to try it for more than a day to see if that is true. I should try it and then maybe I won’t need the biotin supplements? Hmm. Another benefits is of course muscle recovery but the main benefit of cold showers is that you save money as hot water cost money and so you are not only helping your wallet but also the environment!
