I don’t know about you but my work week has been super busy and from morning to night, the time just goes so fast. Quickly eating lunch or shortening my gym workout to fit everything all in has surely been a challenge this week but I guess it is all about time management. Did I manage to find a break during the day? Of course. Why? How?
I think everyone needs a break in their workday! Even the law requires you to get a 15 min break, twice in an 8hr workday so why don’t people take that break? Why are we compelled to keep working? Unless you are a surgeon or something that requires you to forgo your break, I imagine your company will survive without you for 15 mins, twice a day. For mental rejuvenation, we need that break. I’ve noticed when I’ve sat outside on the swing or played with my dog during that break or even worked out, all of those have relaxed me and it is easier to go back to work versus continuing to work non-stop! My advice is that if you are able to take that break, do so. Your body will thank you and the impact will also be seen at your job with hopefully renewed energy and productivity.
