Upset stomach? What should you eat?

If you are at all like me, you end up buying a lot of your favorite food or fruit and eat it consistently the next few days and then you notice something happening—your tummy starts aching. You then remember and say to yourself, I should not have eaten that much or should have eaten less but alas it is too late. So what do you do to fix your upset stomach?

Typically, I would grab an over-the-counter medicine and hope that helps me but usually that takes a day or two plus meanwhile I have to eat because upset stomach or not, you still got to eat? So what is my go to for such scenarios? I typically rely on white rice and daal (lentil curry) or yogurt. Yes, both are also comfort foods for many but for me this combo on bland food for 2 days is what helps me get back on track. Maybe it is the association with it being a comfort food or perhaps just not having any spices helps with digestion or maybe just stopping excess eating of that one item is what helped but at the end of the day is too have a non-upset stomach. Yes, likely my gut bacteria has been altered but instead of drinking acidic kombucha or eating tons of probiotic supplements, this quick meal of yogurt/daal and rice kinda just satisfies me and eases my stomach issues so why change it when it works, right?

What is your best way of calming your stomach? Meds? home-cooked meals?
