Health maintenance via digital means

We all are striving to find a way to stay on track for exercising, dieting, sleeping, or whatnot and in the process, we read blogs, articles, use social media, etc. to determine the best way to achieve our goals. I bet though that you rely very much on a digital device to do this research or monitoring. Why? Are paper and pencil not as efficient? We used to do that before. Now, when you go to the gym, you see people between sets looking at their phones instead of noting their work in a notebook. Is digital life impacting your goals?

Well, digital device influence will continue to grow as we want control of our well-being. We don’t want to go to the doctor unless we absolutely have too. We exercise and eat right in the hopes that we are avoiding health issues and improving our health long-term but do we rely too much on our digital devices to guide us towards success? Do you have a digital scale, a fitness tracker, a smart water bottle, or an app that you use as a clock or coach or for an exercise program? The use of all or some of these is important if it helps you but only you know if it is truly something that is helping or is it likely that you just invested money in something because you think it would help you. Either way, marketers know what people want and going towards so don’t be surprised if more digital ways are incorporated into your daily life—maybe scanning what you eat (oh wait, we do this already) or perhaps a social forum where you can discuss with others on the same journey or a brand endorsed item. Nonetheless, be prepared for digital impact in your life in the future even if it hasn’t taken over just yet.

Stay well!
