What if…?

A lot of the news and conversation today is focusing on when should we reopen the economy and what if we did open it and what if people got sick again or what if? Omg, there are 100+ scenarios of what if but that doesn’t mean that every scenario needs an answer? Imagine being that decision maker and their stress level! What makes sense is whatever makes people comfortable to return to work. No one should be wondering if that cough is more than a cough. If testing was available and a vaccine was closer to being developed then that might give us some hope but imagine going to work and seeing a second wave because we weren’t prepared! So what does all this have to do with the topics of the blog?

Well, in your house and your life, I’m sure you are wondering what if I can’t get to work tomorrow or what if I can’t feed my family or myself? These are all normal thoughts as most of us live paycheck to paycheck but since we can’t predict the future, we can prepare for it in the meantime. Get some food and stock up, limit extra discretionary expenditures, and find creative ways to stretch that dollar and if you still have money left over, start saving now! Events like these don’t need to scare us too much if we are prepared for it somewhat. When stress rises, decisions are made to address them so plan ahead and you likely won’t be impulse decision making!

Stay well and safe!
