As we get older, our bodies change and one way we all see that change is how our hair/skin/nails look and feel. I don’t always think there is a miracle ingredient to fix these but usually if these (hair/skin/nails) are bothering me, I figure out if I am getting enough biotin or not—via food and supplementation.
I’ve talked about biotin before in terms of how good it can be for your hair, skin, and nails but how about where can you get them and how can you tell if you’re deficient?
Eggs are a great source of biotin, specifically the yolk. Not a fan of eggs? Try nuts, fruits, and veggies. My favorite being peanuts but of course eat items that you’re not allergic too. Would you rather take a supplement? There are tons out there and best to ask your doctor which one might be best for you.
Finally, a quick way to tell if you’re biotin deficient is not only if your hair is falling out or your nails are breaking too easily but also if you have red, scaly, or oily skin or you are depressed and tired. Not all of these might occur in you so if you’re not sure if you’re biotin deficient, check with your doctor!
