I have talked about this before but finding something you enjoy doing will keep you active. As I was thinking about all the activities that I have participated, I realized not all were a good fit for me. As a child, your parents expose you to all sorts of things but only as an adult do you discover what you are passionate about—or at least that’s how it was for me.
Growing up, I played soccer, baseball, and tennis. Out of all these activities, I only enjoyed tennis so still play that on and off when I find someone to play with. I never liked baseball as I just didn’t think it was fun plus I didn’t like getting dirty lol. As I went to college, I enjoyed going to work out at the gym but found a regular gym so boring so I went to boxing which I loved. Still do that on and off but my passion was with Crossfit. So many movements without thinking about what to do tomorrow and what day was it (leg day or chest day etc.). All these activities exposed me to so many different skills and I’m glad that I go to do them to figure out what I liked.
My recommendation is try different things and see what you enjoy. Try not to get locked into a contract so you can move around with more flexibility. Plus, Groupon has lots of good deals to find new places to workout so maybe you will find something you truly enjoy which in turn will help you stay fit and healthy!
