Lately, I’ve been thinking about how to detox without actually buying a detox supplement. Detoxing for many means juice cleansing or drinking apple cider vinegar or whatever but is that really detoxing? I mean, you want results that last beyond that one week or 3 days duration, right?
What my detox will include is continuing eating healthy and clean but also removing supplements from my diet. Why? Everyone relies on their multivitamin or vitamin C or D for meeting their daily requirements or we choose to take protein powders after working out because that’s what we are supposed to do but what if you stopped taking all those supplements? How would your body react?
Detoxing doesn’t have to cost a lot of money and if you are eating right, cutting out supplements should be fairly easy. If after a month you feel and look better, that might be because you got rid of synthetic ingredients in these supplements or maybe it was just a reset your body needed. Remember, you body has organs in that help move nutrients and you come with an in-built filter too, kidneys and liver, so detoxing should still be happening even if you are taking supplements.
The best way to experiment for me was to stop buying supplements and just eat healthy and see what happens to my body. So far, I’m happy with the results. Again, figure out what works for you and try to follow that for a month. If you are unsure, always check with your doctor.
