Comfort food

We all gravitate towards something when we need something warm after a stressful day or we need our favorite meal when we’re sick so everyone’s comfort food is healing them in some sort of manner so why bring up comfort food now when it is almost summer here?

Spring allergies and summer colds stink and in my opinion are worse than the winter ones. I definitely gravitate towards my comfort food of daal chawal (traditional Indian lentil yellow curry and white rice). Served piping hot, it takes the blues away. Other times, I like my chicken noodle soup or tomato soup both are great to help you feel better but none of these comfort foods are actually loaded with nutrients to help you achieve your fitness goals yet we consume them, why?

 Sometimes just feeling better is half the battle in continuing on your health and wellness journey so don’t beat yourself up if you had a comfort meal while you’re under-the-weather!
