With the Labor Day weekend here, many of us are likely busy getting school supplies or shopping labor day deals but there is one important thing to do this weekend too. You’re probably expecting me to say something like don’t over-indulge in eating or go barbecue before the weather changes again but there is something you should do this weekend and it may help save your family in the future. What is that?
I like labor day weekend to check the batteries in my smoke detector. Some people check it during the spring cleaning times and others when you do the time change, I prefer to check during a long weekend as an action item because I know I’m looking forward to the weekend so I know I won’t forget whereas time change on a Sunday just kinda happens and goes on.
Take some time tomorrow to check your smoke detector and its batteries, it may save your family and your life!
