Do you garden?

With the pandemic underway, one thing that I see more people doing is growing their own food. Good or bad? It depends on whether you like gardening and eating fresh veggies and fruits.. Another factor that is important to consider is do you have the space and time to maintain a garden because you might have a green thumb but you won’t know it until you give your garden some attention.

My favorite part of gardening is that I put in the effort and soon I’ll get fresh produce to eat. Saves me a trip to the grocery store and I know exactly where it came from. I typically like to grow cilantro, spicy peppers, and tomatoes but watermelons are in my garden too. If you live in a state that allows free soil testing, take advantage of it because that will tell you how much nitrogen/phosphorus, etc. you might need. If you don’t want something high maintenance look into an aero-garden. The benefits of gardening are many and many things can be grown in the winter too so don’t think of this as a summer activity only.

Eat healthy and be well!
