When you think of summer, you think of the sun, the beach, watermelon, and of course, ice cream, right?!
Now, what if I told you that ice cream is becoming healthy? Whoa? How? Ice cream manufacturers are trying to grab on to the clean label trend by giving you plant-based ice creams like avocado and broccoli and so on but is there a real market for this, I wonder?
If you think kids are going to eat it because you have a strawberry ice cream (that is actually made from beets) and that they won’t notice it, then that ice cream is either tasting phenomenal or it will be discarded by the child. Adults know better but if you are eating clean 80-90% of the time, shouldn’t normal ice cream by itself be a good indulgence for you?
To me, unless the flavor profile is as good as regular ice cream, I can’t imagine going for a plant-based ice cream only to say that I ate healthy ice cream!
