Charcoal for cleansing?

One ingredient that I keep seeing pop up everywhere is charcoal. It is in toothpaste to floss to masks to supplements but what do we really know about its benefits?

So why is activated charcoal showing up everywhere?

Activated charcoal is commonly used to eliminate unwanted wastes from your body as drugs and toxins can bind to it. Other uses for it include whitening your teeth as it adsorbs plaque and other microscopic food items that are on your teeth. You use it just like you would brush your teeth, you can buy the powder or the paste. It can be found in clay masks for the same purifying properties that it provides your teeth. If you’re not a fan of masks and toothpaste, check out the supplement but of course know it’s not a cure all for indigestion and is not an easy way to do a cleanse but done correctly, you could reap benefits from it. Check with your doctor to learn more about it before using it.

For me, I like using charcoal toothpaste for the amazing whitening that I get without having to buy whitening strips. I also like charcoal soap as I definitely see the difference in my face after one week of using. I’m not keen on charcoal floss because that just seems like someone decided well, we have charcoal toothpaste and a brush so a floss would be the next best thing but really do you get any benefit from a charcoal floss, I beg to wonder so you won’t find me buying that for sure!
