Can you be a hybrid plant-based eater?

I’ve written before about plant-based eating and how more and more products are going to be delivering plant-based meals for sustainability effects but if you like me are in a dilemma about the healthiness of the product, then what should we do? Well, a growing category is the hybrid plant-based eater. Without giving up meat, you can incorporate plant-based foods in your diet. What do I mean?

Well, as manufacturers realize plant-based foods are hard to make and require some finesse so to speak, a quick solution is to incorporate less animal protein and substitute with plant-based protein so they can call out that it too is plant-based derived. Clever, right? I think that might be a better way for the plant-based movement to gain traction. I mean the average consumer sees pea protein on the package and understands its peas but the next thing they care about is it does it taste good and what does it cost me? So what do you think, is this hybrid way of eating going to take off or not?

Stay well!
