Instant vs Delayed Gratification

Think about this—a few years back you might have gone to the library to look at an encyclopedia for facts on the civil war but today you go to Google and everything you need pops right up. This is the best example of instant gratification vs delayed gratification. Why is this important for you? Well, is your health suffering because you are looking for instant gratification with your diet or workout plan or your meds or supplements? Usually, nothing comes easy and hard work is necessary, but I digress a bit.

We are so used to instant gratification in these days of the internet that we forget that sometimes we overestimate what we can achieve during a month or a year and underestimate what we can achieve in a few years or decades. This is very important to remember because we are not the same person we were yesterday as life experiences shape you daily so why are we looking for instant gratification when sometimes the reward is in the long-term and delayed gratification is a better measure of success?

Stay well!
