Overcoming negative thinking

Recently, I listened to the podcast, The Mindset Mentor by Rob Dial, about overcoming negative thinking. I’m sure I’m not the only one who continues to want to be a positive thinker but sometimes life gets in the way and you get stressed and hormones like serotonin and dopamine and cortisol are then altered so what can you do?

I don’t think there is just one solution and Rob’s podcasts shares that a key to overcoming negative thoughts is to have 3 positive thoughts for everyone one negative one. Does that make sense? Yes, because you might know what triggers that negative thought but you probably didn’t know how to overcome it. Flooding your brain with positive messages is one way to dismiss those thoughts. The more you do this, the more likely in a year or so you’ll be a positive person.

We don’t have to define ourselves with “is the glass half full or half empty” but managing our view towards certain thoughts can definitely help us overcome those negative ones that come up!

Stay well!
