Vitamin A

This week, I’ll be writing about the ABCs—not that ABC but rather the vitamins we all need or get via the food and supplements we take.

No matter how you get your vitamin A– carrots, food, supplements, meat, milk, etc.–there is a possibility that you can get too much and it can be toxic so if you’re taking too much or high dose vitamin A, do consult with your doctor. Also, do check the nutrition label on the package to see what % of your daily vitamin A is in that item so that you can keep track of it, otherwise, you won’t really know when you have too much.

So what are some side effects of too much Vitamin A? Side effects could include hair loss, fatigue, cracked lips, headaches, stomach issues, and more. Of course, these are also a result of lacking some other vitamins too so best to speak with your doctor to confirm what could be causing these side effects.

Strive to eat a balanced diet and check in with your doctor so that your health is optimal.
