Progress

We often measure progress by what we see in the mirror or what others see and complement or maybe even give a back-handed compliment but progress is nonetheless happening daily.

When you are working out and eating right, you may not see results daily and you may feel like why am I going to the gym or eating this way or giving up things that I like but what you have to remember is that change comes slowly and nothing happens overnight, no matter how much we wish it did. If you need that boost of self-confidence, talk to someone who hasn’t seen you in a few months as I’m sure they’ll be the ones to notice any changes.

Another way to see your progress is by taking before and after pics as you’ll be surprised by the differences. I don’t recommend weighing yourself too often because even if the scale isn’t changing maybe your body composition is and maybe muscle is being built so the scale number might not change. Another good way to assess your progress is do you fit into a different size of pant? That’s as telling as it needs to be because if you have dropped pant sizes or gone up a few, nothing will more clearly tell you your results. Finally, progress can also be measured by how you feel? With this new diet/exercise plan, are you more energetic? sleeping better? Sometimes its not the numbers but the energy level that tells us how we are doing.

Don’t feel down if you aren’t see rapid progress, results take time!
